Mr. Kamer Singh is a doyen of Indian classical music who has extensive experience in teaching music in India as well as in Bhutan. He started learning music at the age of 14. He specializes and excels in playing a range of musical instruments including Sitar, Harmonium, Tabla and Keyboard. He has performed at various Indian cultural festivals held in India and abroad including Russia, Thailand, Hungary and Singapore. He is a music composer and an empaneled Artist with All India Radio and Doordarshan for the last forty years. Mr. Singh has served as Music Teacher at St. Bede’s College, Shimla (an educational institution founded in 1904) for almost 40 years.
Mr. Kamer Singh was selected by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, the outreach cultural arm of the Ministry of External Affairs, and appointed to the post of Teacher of Indian Music and Culture at the Nehru Wangchuck Cultural Centre of the Embassy of India, Thimphu. He has been teaching music at the Cultural Centre of the Embassy since 22 April 2019.
