Passang Tshering is an accomplished blogger and social worker from Haa. He is widely recognized for his influential blog, www.passudiary.com, where he has been sharing stories since 2009. Passang compiled a selection of his best articles from his blog into a book, titled “PaSsu Diary.”
Building upon his experience in the publishing industry, Passang Tshering founded BOOKNESE, an organisation dedicated to archiving and promoting Bhutanese books. Recognizing the importance of preserving Bhutanese literature and making it accessible to a wider audience, BOOKNESE has become a valuable platform for Bhutanese authors and readers alike.
Passang’s passion for improving the quality of life extends beyond the literary realm. He founded Bhutan Toilet Org, a civil society organisation focused on promoting clean and hygienic toilets in Bhutan. Passang and his team strive to make a positive impact on public health and sanitation, for which he received the title of Chablop (Toilet Teacher) from His Majesty the King in 2015. In 2016, Bhutan Toilet Org was awarded the National Order of Merit (Gold) for its service to the country.
