Thinley Jamtsho Tshering is an architect by profession and a musician at heart, specializing in conservation with a focus on vernacular architecture and cultural heritage. As a freelancer, he collaborates with multiple institutions and organizations, including research and study at Silpakorn University in Thailand. He also conducts data verification and quality control with the Maritime Asia Heritage Survey under the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at Kyoto University in Japan.
Jamtsho works with several international organizations across Austria and the United States, curating events and overseeing graphic design and branding projects. His areas of interest revolve around the conservation and management of culture and heritage, emphasizing collaboration with local communities while fostering global connections and networks. He is passionate about researching and documenting cultural heritage using technologies such as remote sensing, 3D laser scanning, geographic information systems, and other related techniques. His work includes the documentation of mural paintings, traditional artwork, texts, manuscripts, and artifacts. Outside of his work, he draws inspiration from traditional Bhutanese art, music, and traditional instruments. In his free time, he tries to learn traditional art techniques and works to digitize artwork.
